Colorado Girls Lacrosse Playoff Race Heats Up With Top Teams in Action

The Colorado girls lacrosse postseason picture is starting to sharpen, and Wednesday’s results gave us another look at where several top-ranked teams stand heading into the final stretch.

Only two Colorado girls lacrosse games were played on Wednesday, May 6, but both featured ranked teams and both delivered clear statements from programs looking to build momentum.

Colorado Academy Rolls Past Ralston Valley

No. 3 Colorado Academy picked up a strong 22-3 win over No. 17 Ralston Valley in Denver.

The Mustangs entered the matchup as one of the top teams in the state and showed why, controlling the game from start to finish. For Ralston Valley, the loss came against one of Colorado’s deepest and most experienced programs, but the Mustangs made a clear case that they are still one of the teams to watch as the postseason approaches.

Colorado Academy’s offense has been one of the most consistent units in the state, and Wednesday’s result only added to that reputation.

Fairview Handles Denver East

No. 2 Fairview also made a statement, beating No. 19 Denver East 18-5.

The Knights have been one of the top teams in Colorado all season, and this result keeps them firmly in the conversation near the top of the state rankings. Fairview’s ability to separate against a ranked Denver East team shows why the Knights remain one of the most dangerous teams in the field.

Denver East has been building a strong season of its own, but Fairview’s pace, scoring depth, and overall control were too much on Wednesday.

Thursday Brings a Full Slate of Ranked Matchups

After a light Wednesday schedule, Thursday brings a much bigger slate with eight Colorado girls lacrosse games on the schedule.

Several top-ranked teams are back in action, including No. 1 Valor Christian, No. 4 Regis Jesuit, and No. 5 Heritage.

No. 24 Chatfield at No. 1 Valor Christian

No. 20 Columbine at No. 4 Regis Jesuit

No. 16 Poudre School District at No. 5 Heritage

Telluride at No. 23 Aspen
