Colorado Boys Lacrosse Playoffs: 5A and 4A Quarterfinals Set for This Week

5A Boys Lacrosse: Quarterfinals Set for Wednesday, May 13

Eight teams are still standing in 5A, and the quarterfinals are set for Wednesday night.

Valor Christian has looked dominant. The top seed knocked out Poudre School District 19-3 and draws Mountain Vista next. Mountain Vista earned its spot with a 17-7 win over Ralston Valley. Those two meet Wednesday, May 13 at 6:30 p.m.

The other quarterfinal in Quadrant 1 and 2 features Arapahoe against Lakewood at LPS Stadium at 7 p.m. Arapahoe rolled past Grandview 18-3. Lakewood held off Cherokee Trail 10-7 to punch its ticket.

On the other side of the bracket, Cherry Creek beat Rock Canyon 12-4 and now faces Erie, which survived a one-goal thriller against Colorado Academy 12-11. That game is set for Wednesday, May 13 at 6:30 p.m.

Regis Jesuit handled Northfield 17-6 and gets Fairview, which edged Legend 9-8 in the closest game of the round. That one is set for Wednesday, May 13 at 7 p.m.

Semifinals are May 16. The 5A state championship is May 18.

4A Boys Lacrosse: Quarterfinals Set for Tuesday, May 12

The second round is done in 4A. Eight teams remain, and the quarterfinals are set for Tuesday.

Air Academy has looked sharp all postseason. The top seed beat Middle Park 16-4 and now faces Cheyenne Mountain, which knocked out Steamboat Springs 10-7 to earn the matchup. They play Tuesday, May 12 at 6 p.m.

Aspen beat Ponderosa 12-5 and takes on Lutheran, which survived a one-goal game against Golden 7-6. That quarterfinal is set for Tuesday, May 12 at 5 p.m.

On the other side, Evergreen beat Mullen 12-5 and faces Battle Mountain, which took care of Prairie View 13-6. Those two meet Tuesday, May 12 at 5 p.m.

Grand Junction beat Dakota Ridge 16-9 and draws Telluride, which handled Holy Family 17-7 in one of the more lopsided results of the round. That game is set for Tuesday, May 12 at 2 p.m.

Semifinals are May 16. The 4A state championship is May 18.
